DEFINITELY ALIEN - Curiosity photographs object on Mars that didn't come from the Red Planet!

It isn't a rock. NASA's curiosity rover has spotted a mysterious object on the surface of Mars which some say is evidence of alien life. The object is distinct enough that it does not belong to the native Martian landscape.
Has NASA found a UFO on the surface of Mars?

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) -- NASA published a photo posted to Reddit that shows a distinctly alien object on Mars. Unlike previous objects that are likely to be rocks or shadows, this object does not belong on the Red Planet and is not a natural formation.
The Curiosity Rover took the image in March, but only recently released and published on Reddit. Viewers were immediately astonished. Has NASA slipped and revealed clear evidence of aliens?
The object is roughly circular and has bright spots where sunlight glints of metal. It appears to have rough edges, possibly a result of damage.
So what is it? It's almost certainly an alien object, if by alien we mean something, not from Mars. Last March the rover was directed to photograph its debris from reentry. Although NASA has not explained the find, it is likely a piece of debris from the rover's reentry. The rover originally descended in a capsule which fell away in pieces, by design, as the rover approached the surface. The image likely captures one of those pieces.
Is this the best evidence yet of a UFO on Mars? It's certainly alien, if by alien you mean from Earth, and not Mars. Experts speculate this is a piece of debris from the Curiosity rover's landing capsule.
Mars is a tantalizing target for scientists and conspiracy theorists. It is widely thought that Mars once possessed all the preconditions for life, including warmer temperatures, higher atmospheric pressure, and even flowing water.
One of the reasons why we notice so many strange objects on Mars is the human brain's tendency to make sense out of chaos. The phenomenon is known as pareidolia, and it is probably an evolved trait, one that has a survival benefit, according to scientists. Not everything we see is the real thing, but the brain is easily tricked. And that's how a bit of metal debris can become a flying saucer on Mars.
